DG is a 20 year old, 15.3, Connemara/TB mare who is sensitive to aids, has a great work ethic and loves to jump. Located in Hanover PA.
In the barn she gets along well with other horses and can be turned out with mares or geldings. The more turnout the better. She is not super affectionate, but loves her job and is always ready to work. She jumps right on the trailer to go places, and settles in well at the trailer or in a new stall for overnight competitions. Stands very well for the farrier, and she has great feet. She goes barefoot in the winter and we usually put front shoes on her when she is in more consistent work during the summer.
At home she tends to be more laid back, on the flat, but gets a bit speedy once jumping. At competitions she is excited to go do her job, and tends to be more forward than at home. She loves to jump, both stadium and cross country, and once she sees a jump she locks in and takes you to it.
She has been to several Pony Club rallies (Show Jumping, Eventing, and Tetrathlon) , and has been to Pony Club Nationals in Kentucky for Tetrathlon. She and I evented at the Novice level for 4 years while I was in college. She has done hunterpaces, and trail rides alone or in a group.
The ideal rider for her would be someone who has evented at Begginer Novice and is looking to move up to Novice with an experienced horse. Or someone who has been jumping at least 2'6" and is looking to move up with a more forward horse. She is not for beginners, she needs a calm confident rider who has light hands and seat. She would be great for a D3 Pony Clubber who is getting ready to take their C1.
Very sad to have to sell her, as I'm headed to graduate school.
