keen and sweet
Mobi has experience through CCI2* Eventing, Second level Dressage, and 1.15m Jumpers. Beginner or advanced rider friendly. Due to injury, she needs to retire to lower level eventing, or can do pure dressage/SJ (more at bottom).
*SJ is where Mobi shines. She is very keen and handy, point and shoot. Light in the hand, easy to half halt or lengthen, or will figure it out if you screw up. Also jumps bridleless and started to learn the Spanish walk. A good horse to just have fun with.
*In Dressage, Mobi is capable, experienced, and still improving. It can take some finesse to get her through. Her last big international competition we scored a 34 in the dressage (similar to 66% 2nd level).
*Very brave and sensible XC through lower levels. At prelim, she could be looky but still went double clear much more often than not.
Quiet and sweet on the ground. Hacks out alone, in group, or ponies. Does have a spook and will jump sideways from a deer or windy indoor, but no real buck, bolt, rear, spin. My totally nonhorsey husband learned how to tack and ride a horse with her, as an example of how forgiving she can be. Easy keeper. Only front shoes with silicone filling and leather pads, which I carefully manage with vet/farrier.
Mobi developed calcification of the attachment of the DDFT to the coffin bone in bilateral front feet, diagnosed w/ CT. This is a chronic injury, and just requires symptom management. The tendon was not involved in injury. She was off December 2023 to August 2024, had temporary wedge pads, Osphos x2, shockwave x3, started Equioxx. She has never had any other injuries and has otherwise clean imaging. What she can do is entirely dependent on her staying comfortable and not pushing it. The vet is following her very closely and she has not had any issues coming back into work. Back to jumping 3’ at home. First recognized event back was BN in Nov2024, finished on her dressage score. To prevent recurrence of the inflammation and pain, Mobi should probably not go past Novice level eventing, and I will not let her run if the ground is hard. Show jumping on footing I imagine she will stay comfortable through at least 3’3”, given she was still happily doing 3’9” SJ rounds at the height of her injury. She’s a jump once a week, maybe twice, kind of horse. Dressage has no limitations.
I have endless pictures and videos of her that I am happy to share! She was my one and only for the last 5 years. As an AA in a program, I brought her from the track to Prelim, at which she competed the last 3 years before her injury. She had many wins and top placings along the way.
I am looking for a partial lease. Leaser will eventually need to have their own saddle, properly fitted, as I use mine for my other horse. If leaser wants to do any higher jumping or dressage, weekly lessons required.
