Oberon is a 6 year old 16.1+ hand Dutch Warmblood gelding with substantial bone and presence. I purchased Obie from his breeder as a 3 year old and he has had a slow and correct start. Obie has experience at Hunter Paces and eventing through Beginner Novice (winning his most recent schooling event on a 28). He could easily step into the Hunter or Eq ring with his lofty movement and great front end over fences. Obie is steady and uncomplicated to jump; he’s as honest as they come over fences. I could see this horse being the ultimate competitive Jr/ AA Training level and below horse (not enough gas for the upper levels here… he is a kick ride!). He is competitive on the flat, and reliable over fences. Great to hack out alone or with company. No vices, excellent ground manners. While Obie will be a fantastic horse for someone who wants to have fun and be competitive, he still needs a few more show miles until he is a complete packer. It would be best for him to have a rider who is comfortable bringing along a young horse or an AA in a program who can work with a trainer to give him a little bit more experience. Priced to reflect this; will increase as he continues to compete through the spring and summer!
